Findlay, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan football team was defeated 28-0 by #16 Findlay on Saturday afternoon.
The first half was a defensive showdown, as neither team's offense was able to put points on the board. Findlay's only touchdown came on a pick-six in the middle of the second quarter, taking that 7-0 lead into the locker room.
The Oilers broke the game open in the second half, starting with a 23-yard touchdown pass on their opening drive. UF added two more scores, another in the third quarter and one in the fourth, to finalize their 28-0 victory.
Freshman quarterback Justus Wertzler went 10-22 for 115 yards. Camron Brogan was on the receiving end for the majority of those, racking up five catches for 73 yards.
Jalon Baker and Nolan Forsha led the way on the defensive side of the ball, with the former tallying nine tackles and 1.0 tackles for loss and the latter logging nine tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss.
Josh Noble had a big day as well, totaling six tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks.
The Panthers continue their quest for a victory next Saturday, October 25, in a noon matchup against Northwood at Steele Stadium.
