Wesleyan Falls in Road Tilt at Walsh

North Canton, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan men's basketball team was defeated 82-64 by Walsh on Saturday afternoon inside Alumni Arena.

The Panthers fell to 10-4 overall and 4-2 in the G-MAC, failing to get back on track after their ten-game win streak was snapped on Thursday at Lake Erie. Walsh improved to 6-7 overall and 2-5 in the G-MAC.

The game was similar to Wesleyan's loss against the Storm, as the Cavaliers got off to a fast start and never looked back. Walsh led by as much as 18 in the first half and held a 47-31 advantage at the half.

A three-pointer by the Cavaliers put the home team up 21 with just under 16 minutes to play, but the Panthers then slowly began to claw back in. A 22-10 run cut the deficit to nine at 67-58 with under eight minutes left in the game, but Walsh closed strongly and took home the victory.

Quentin Toles logged 17 points and three rebounds on the afternoon. Edward Jones Jr. continued his effective play with 13 points, five rebounds, three assists, and a blocked shot.

The Panthers look to put the past two games behind them as they head to Columbus, Ohio, for a matchup against Ohio Dominican. Tipoff is set for 6:30 PM on Thursday, January 16, with the women having a 4:30 PM tip beforehand.
