North Canton, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan football team was defeated 54-10 by the Walsh Cavaliers to begin G-MAC play.
It was never the Panthers' day, as Walsh led in nearly every statistical category and forced six turnovers by Wesleyan.
The Cavaliers scored 23 points in the first quarter alone and never looked back, taking a 30-3 lead into halftime. Blake Vivrette was responsible for the Panthers' three points at the break with a 41-yard field goal to continue his perfect season thus far.
Walsh piled on 24 more points in the second half on the way to their largest victory over Wesleyan in nine meetings between the two programs.
Brandon Mackey was one of few bright spots for the Panthers, rushing for 91 yards on just nine attempts and scoring the only Wesleyan touchdown.
Defensively, Kelton Farmer was impressive with nine tackles, including six solos, and 0.5 tackles for loss.
Wesleyan (1-2, 0-1 G-MAC) is back on the road a week from today on Saturday, September 28, for a battle with Ohio Dominican. Kickoff is set for 12 PM in Columbus, Ohio.
