AUGUSTA, GA - The first game of Kentucky Wesleyan Baseball's 2024 campaign didn't quite go as planned, as Wesleyan fell 9-0 to the host Augusta Jaguars.
Augusta, who had already played in four contests, struck early, hitting a three-run shot over the left field fence in the first inning. They scored two runs in the fourth, seventh, and eighth innings to get the win.
Wesleyan only managed three hits in the contest, coming off the bats of
Braxton French,
Myles Pallister, and
Kyle LaVanchy.
Seth Wright (0-1) struck out six in the loss.
The Panthers will have two chances at redemtion tomorrow as they face the Jaguars in a doubleheader. First pitch of the opening game is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT.
