GLENVILLE, W.V. – In the final tune-up before the NCAA Super Regional, the Kentucky Wesleyan College wrestling team lost a pair of duals on Thursday evening at the Glenville State Duals. The Panthers fell 46-5 to host Glenville State before a 43-11 loss to Frostburg State.
Gabe Adams won both of his matches on the afternoon.
Gabe Adams was responsible for the Panthers' five points against Glenville State. He quickly won his 141-pound match 16-1 over Lucas Talley. Adams had two takedowns with three near-fall points in the opening period to take a 9-1 lead over Talley and never looked back. At heavyweight
Kelton Farmer lost a tough match to Gavin Shamblin 5-1.
In the Frostburg State match, Adams again recorded a technical fall. Adams defeated Logan Intrieri 15-0. Adams held a 9-0 after two periods and early in the third frame tookdown Intrieri to his back, giving Adams six more points and the win.
At 165-pounds,
Bryar Lane returned to the mat with a quick pin over Liam DeBaugh. Lane turned the tables on his opponent in the opening period. DeBaugh earned an early take-down of Lane with back-points, but Lane reversed DeBaugh to his back to record a pin 66 seconds into the opening period.
Drayden McKerrow lost a 4-2 decision at 184-pounds over Nick McCarthy.
The Panthers will travel to Indianapolis on March 2
nd of the NCAA Super Regionals. Competition will be conducted on the campus of the University of Indianapolis and begin at 9AM CT.
