Owensboro, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College volleyball team fell by the score of 14-25, 20-25, 24-26 to Ohio Dominican on Sunday inside Jones Gym.
Wesleyan is now 0-21 overall and 0-10 in the G-MAC, while Ohio Dominican improves to 10-13 overall and 5-5 in the G-MAC.
In what has been a competitive series historically, KWC now trails 11-6 and has lost eight of the last nine matchups.
After a first set that was all ODU, the second was a back-and-forth affair that the road team took control of after three straight points that gave them a 22-17 lead, eventually prevailing 25-20.
The third set was even more competitive, with the set coming to a pinnacle at 24-24 after a Hadley Wolfe kill. Unfortunately, ODU took the next two points and won the match in a sweep.
Wolfe led the team with 10 kills while Julia Kupper had eight and Havanah John had seven. Kupper also had four blocks, 13 assists, and 11 digs.
Tessa-Jo Allen had 11 digs of her own, and Ana De Sevilla-Acosta had 13 assists. Gracie Newton added four blocks on the day.
The Panthers start a three-game road trip next, first matching up with Lake Erie on Friday, November 8. First serve is set for 5 PM.
