Owensboro, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College volleyball team fell 22-25, 20-25, 18-25 to Cedarville on Saturday night inside Jones Gym.
Wesleyan is now 0-20 overall and 0-9 in the G-MAC this season, while Cedarville moves to 11-8 overall and 7-3 in the G-MAC.
The Panthers' deficit is now 20-7 in the all-time series, with their last win coming back in 2019.
Wesleyan had an opportunity to take control with a first set win, at one point trailing just 23-22 after a Grace Carter kill, but the Yellow Jackets earned the next two points to seize that set.
The second set was another close battle, as a service ace by Maddie Hanshew cut the Cedarville lead to 23-20, but again the road team scored the next two to take control of the match.
Just like the first two sets, Wesleyan trailed just 21-18 after an ace by Embry Burgess in the third set, but Cedarville would score four straight to close out the set and match.
Overall, Hadley Wolfe had a team-high eight kills on top of five blocks, Carter had seven kills, and Tessa-Jo Allen had six kills and 14 digs.
Julia Kupper had a team-high 15 assists and 12 digs, and Embry Burgess added three aces and nine digs. Havanah John had an impressive six blocks in the match, with Gracie Newton right behind her with five blocks.
The Panthers are back in action tomorrow morning, Sunday, November 3 vs. Ohio Dominican. First serve is set for 11 am inside Jones Gym.
