Panthers Fall vs. Tiffin on Senior Day

Owensboro, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College football team was defeated by the score of 54-14 by the Tiffin Dragons on Saturday afternoon inside Steele Stadium.

The Panthers fall to 2-7 overall and 1-6 in the G-MAC, while Tiffin improves to 7-2 overall and 6-1 in the G-MAC.

Wesleyan has still yet to down the Dragons in program history, now trailing the all-time series 9-0.

Tiffin started quickly, scoring on their first two drives to take an early 14-0 lead. The Panthers responded with a five-play, 75-yard drive that was capped off with a picturesque 44-yard touchdown pass from Joey Cambron to Brohns Donaldson to cut their deficit in half at 14-7.

The two teams then traded touchdowns as Cambron threw his second touchdown pass of the day, this time to Adam Hobbs for the latter's first career score to make the tally 21-14.

A pick-six right before the half by Cambron gave Tiffin all the momentum headed into the break, and the Dragons never looked back. The road team 26 unanswered points in the second half, going home with a 54-14 triumph.

Cambron finished 8/16 for 158 yards and two touchdowns. Brandon Mackey led the way on the ground for the Panthers, recording 39 yards on 16 attempts in what was a relatively quiet day for the star back. Brohns Donaldson had a career day through the air, catching three passes for 102 yards and a score.

Defensively, John Purdy, Jhor'dan Inniss, and Kelton Farmer each had a team-high six tackles. Inniss also had three breakups on the day, while Jaden Santos-Lopez added four tackles, a sack, and two QB hurries.

The Panthers are on the road for their final two games of the year, first heading to Thomas More for an in-state rivalry matchup. Kickoff is set for 1 PM on Saturday, November 9.
