Fairborn, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer team fell by the score of 2-1 in a hard-fought G-MAC contest on Wednesday night at Alumni Field.
The Panthers (3-5-0, 2-2-0 G-MAC) have now lost nine straight matches against Cedarville, dating back to 2017.
The scoring began quickly, as Shaylee Earnheart delivered a crosser to Seren Johnson for a Yellow Jackets goal just four minutes into the game.
It was a defensive battle for the rest of the first half and much of the second half, up until Cedarville doubled their lead at 2-0 on a corner-kick goal from Becca Schulenberg in the 76th minute.
Wesleyan wasn't done yet, earning a penalty kick opportunity in the 82nd minute. Haley Osborne took the shot and drained her second goal of the season to put the Panthers within one at 2-1, but that was as close as Wesleyan would get.
Cedarville (4-3-2, 3-1-1 G-MAC) controlled much of the match, finishing with a 14-7 shot advantage, 6-5 shot on goal advantage, and 9-2 corner kick advantage.
The Panthers continue their three-match road trip with a battle vs. the Walsh Cavaliers in North Canton, Ohio, on Saturday, October 5.
