INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has officially launched the Talkin' G-MAC podcast, a new sports podcast hosted by Katie Gilhooly. The podcast will be found in video form on the Great Midwest Digital Network nad in audio form wherever you listen to podcasts. 

The podcast will highlight both the past, present, and future of the G-MAC and will include interviews with current and former student-athletes, coaches, and other individuals associated with the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. 

"With a background in sports media, I noticed immediately after joining the G-MAC staff, the lack of coverage that Division II athletic programs were receiving and wanted to do something to narrow that gap in our footprint," said Katie Gilhooly, Director of Digital Media and Communications at the Great Midwest and Host of the Talkin' G-MAC Podcast. "I know our conference and the 14 schools that compete as part of the Great Midwest are filled with stories that need to be told." Gilhooly, a former sports anchor and reporter, joined the Great Midwest staff in 2021 and has been working behind the scenes to create the Talkin' G-MAC Podcast ever since. "I'm thrilled to be a part of the effort to celebrate the student-athletes, coaches and administrators that make our conference so great."

"We look forward to highlighting our student-athletes, coaches, contributors, and many Great Midwest alums through the new podcast. There are many amazing stories to share and wonderful personalities to engage as we begin this new endeavor," said Tom Daeger, Commissioner. "Our host, Katie Gilhooly, has a strong background in broadcasting and hosting podcasts and I'm appreciative of her willingness to launch Talkin' G-MAC this fall. She is an outstanding storyteller and a terrific ambassador for our student-athletes."

The Talkin' G-MAC Podcast will debut on Aug. 31 with Episode 101 featuring an interview with Tom Daeger, Commissioner of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The podcast will then air weekly on Wednesdays on the Great Midwest Digital Network as well as on most major podcast sites.
