SMYRNA, TN - Kentucky Wesleyan dropped two on their final day in Smyrna, falling 10-0 to McKendree and 13-5 to Purdue-Northwest in the finale.
Game One
The bats were quiet for the Panthers in their opening game, as they failed to record a hit throughout the five inning contest.
Shelbi Patterson and
Allie Dunn were the only Panther baserunners in the game, as Patterson reached on an error in the fourth, and Dunn on a walk in the fifth.
Immi Mann (0-4) took the loss for the Panthers.
Game Two
Wesleyan started off strong in their contest against Purdue-Northwest, scoring five runs in the first inning.
Shelbi Patterson singled to start the game, and
Augusta Garr reached on a hit-by-pitch in the very next at bat.
Megan Matheis then hit an RBI double to get the scoring going for Wesleyan. The Panthers then got four straight RBI's from
Allie Dunn,
Grace Colvin,
Guinny Garr, and
Immi Mann to give them the 5-2 advantage after one.
It was all PNW from there on out, as they held Wesleyan scoreless the rest of the way while scoring 11 runs themselves.
Allie Dunn led the way at the plate, going 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Dunn (2-4) took the loss for the Panthers.
Wesleyan will be back in action next weekend when they host their annual Independence Bank Blue Bridge Battle. Their opener will be Friday, Feb. 24 vs. Illinois-Springfield.
