MILLINGTON, TN - Taking on Truman State, Wesleyan fell 8-6 to their foes from the GLVC.
This was the first game of the season for Truman State, while Wesleyan drops to 0-4 on the season.
TSU got up quickly, going up 2-0 in the top of the first inning. Wesleyan answered back with two runs of their own, thanks to a two-run shot from
Jaret Humphrey to score
Aric Lyons.
Truman State built up a 6-2 lead, but the Panthers got one back thanks to another RBI from Humphrey, this time a sacrifice fly to score
Noah Davis. An error by the Bulldog third baseman allowed
Cameron Langston and Lyons to score, making it a 7-5 TSU lead after seven. A solo shot by
Aric Lyons in the ninth inning made it 8-6, but Truman State held on for the win.
Cameron Langston went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the loss.
Jaret Humphrey tallied three RBI's thanks to his home run and sacrifice fly.
Austin Baugh (0-1) struck out four in the loss.
Wesleyan will have a chance at redemption tomorrow as they take on the Bulldogs in a double-header. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT.
