Panthers drop weekend opener to Truman State

MILLINGTON, TN - Taking on Truman State, Wesleyan fell 8-6 to their foes from the GLVC.

This was the first game of the season for Truman State, while Wesleyan drops to 0-4 on the season.

TSU got up quickly, going up 2-0 in the top of the first inning. Wesleyan answered back with two runs of their own, thanks to a two-run shot from Jaret Humphrey to score Aric Lyons

Truman State built up a 6-2 lead, but the Panthers got one back thanks to another RBI from Humphrey, this time a sacrifice fly to score Noah Davis. An error by the Bulldog third baseman allowed Cameron Langston and Lyons to score, making it a 7-5 TSU lead after seven. A solo shot by Aric Lyons in the ninth inning made it 8-6, but Truman State held on for the win.

Cameron Langston went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the loss. Jaret Humphrey tallied three RBI's thanks to his home run and sacrifice fly. Austin Baugh (0-1) struck out four in the loss.
