CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY - Two first half goals was too much for Wesleyan to overcome, as they fell 2-0 to the Thomas More Saints on Saturday.
TMU improves to 6-7-2 (5-5-1 G-MAC), while Wesleyan drops to 2-12-0 (2-10-0 G-MAC).
Thomas More opened the game by scoring on their first shot, going up 1-0 in the 11th minute. A shot from
Steeley Walker failed to find the back of the net, and Thomas More took advantage, scoring again in the 38th minute to go up 2-0. The teams combined for 11 shots in the second half, but none found their target, and the game finished with the 2-0 score.
Maci Onstott led Wesleyan with two shots, including one on goal.
Elizabeth Burns made four saves in a shutout second half.
Wesleyan will have a chance at redemption next week when they take on Thomas More for senior day on Wednesday, October 25th. Kickoff will take place at Steele Stadium at 7 p.m. CT.
