OWENSBORO, KY -
Sean Henderson has officially been named the new Cheerleading Head Coach as announced by Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics
Mark Shook on Friday.
"Sean came highly recommended as his passion, knowledge, and experience in the sport will move us forward as a program in many ways," said Shook. "We believe he will grow the interest in our region to host clinics and competitions, which will also also draw more students to be interested in KWC Cheer as their next step from a successful high school experience."
Henderson graduated from Eastern Kentucky University and competed with EKU and Sacramento State on their large coed teams, where he had multiple top-three finishes at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) nationals. Henderson has coached on all levels, all the way from youth to college. He worked for the UCA for nearly 10 years, giving him the tools and drive to coach at each level.
"I am excited to be working with the athletes, administration, and athletes at Kentucky Wesleyan," said Henderson. "I am looking forward to seeing how far I can push these athletes and help them achieve all their goals, whether in cheer or in life."
