HARROGATE, TN - Playing in their first official road game of the season, the Panthers fell 1-0 to a very good Lincoln Memorial team.
After scoring seven goals in their season opener against Midway, the Panthers failed to find the net against the Railsplitters. They were not without opportunities, however, as
Jake Peveler just barely missed a header in the opening half and
Theo White saw his shot go just above the bar with 14 minutes left in the game. Lincoln Memorial scored the lone goal in the game on a header off a corner kick in the 72nd minute of play.Â
Despite being outshot 19-6 in the game, the Panthers controlled most of the second half, forcing LMU into costly mistakes.Â
Theo White led the Panthers with two shots on the game, while
Haakon Torvbraaten managed the Panther's only shot on goal.
Arthur Hill made five saves in goal.Â
Wesleyan will be back at it on on Sunday when they head to the University of Missouri-St. Louis for a matchup with their foes from the GLVC. Game time is set for 3 p.m. CT.Â
