OWENSBORO, KY - The Panthers opened their 2022 campaign with a 5-0 loss to the visiting Campbellsville Tigers on Thursday night.
Campbellsville (1-0) put the Panthers on the defensive early, putting up 17 shots in the first half alone, compared to just four from the Panthers. Wesleyan couldn't hold the Tigers off forever, however, as Campbellsville scored their opener 15 minutes into the half. Slowly the Panthers defensive wall began to crack, as the Tigers would score four more in the contest.
Chloe Hinchcliffe registered a team leading three shots while her sister
Natalie Hinchcliffe had two, including the Panther's lone shot on goal.
Reegan Garrity made six saves in the game.
The Panthers will look to rebound off this loss on Sunday when they host Berea at 3 p.m.
