OWENSBORO, KY - Despite outshooting Ohio Dominican 18-17, four goals in the first 30 minutes from ODU was enough to put Wesleyan away.
With the win Ohio Dominican moves to 3-5-4 (3-3-3 G-MAC), while Wesleyan falls to 3-8 (2-6 G-MAC).
Wesleyan held much of the possession in the opening half and outshot ODU 13-8, but the visiting Panthers took advantage of their opportunities, scoring on all their shots-on-goal in the frame. The teams played an even second half, with
Chloe Hinchcliffe even getting back a goal off the assist from her sister
Natalie Hinchcliffe. It was too little, too late, however, as Ohio Dominican held on for the victory.
Natalie Hinchcliffe led the Panthers with eight shots, including two on goal.
Chloe Hinchcliffe's goal was her fourth of the season.
Reegan Garrity and
Elizabeth Burns each tallied four saves in the loss.
Wesleyan will stay at home this weekend when they host the Cavaliers of Walsh University on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. CT.
