OWENSBORO, KY - The Panthers took down the Trojans in a dramatic opening set, but would end up falling to Trevecca Nazarene 30-32, 25-17, 25-21, 25-14.
With the win TNU moves to 9-5 (2-3 G-MAC) while KWC falls to 2-11 (0-5 G-MAC).
The opening set was a back and forth battle all the way through. The teams were tied 19 times in the set and Trevecca had the Panthers on the ropes multiple times.
Nicole Martin wasn't about to let this one go as she seemed to put down a kill every time Trevecca tried to pull away. KWC used a kill by
Lilly Trump and two kills from Martin to finally pull ahead and win the set 32-30.
Trevecca buckled down and limited their mistakes in the following three sets, winning each set to take the match 3-1.Â
Lilly Trump led the Panthers with 15 kills, followed by
Nicole Martin (13) and
Diana Wesolosky (8).
Karrah Cron notched 36 assists while Cron and
Maggie Vincent each had 16 digs.
