COLUMBUS, OH - The Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers couldn't quite find their footing in Saturday's match, falling to Ohio Dominican in straight sets, 25-19, 25-11, 25-11.
With the win the Oilers move to 8-2 (2-0 G-MAC) while the Panthers fall to 2-8 (0-2 G-MAC).
The opening set saw the Panthers keep it close, with a
Lilly Trump kill and an attacking error by ODU tying the game at 18-18. Six straight points by Ohio Dominican stopped any Wesleyan moment, as they would take the set 25-19. The last two sets saw ODU take big leads early on their way to two 25-11 victories.
Nicole Martin led the way with eight kills, followed closely behind
Ava Rebarchik (7) and Trump (5).
Karrah Cron continued her strong season with twenty assists, while
Maggie Vincent tallied 17 digs.
Wesleyan will stay at home next weekend as they take on nationally ranked Hillsdale College on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a battle with Findlay on Saturday at 11 a.m.
