OWENSBORO, KY. - The Panthers didn't have an answer for the Oilers on Saturday, falling to Findlay 5-1.
With the win Findlay moves to 2-3 (1-1 G-MAC) while the Panthers fall to 0-3 (0-2 G-MAC).
The Oilers got on the board early and never looked back, scoring three goals in the first half to go into the break with a 3-0 lead.Â
After going up 4-0 on a goal in the 58th minute, senior
Jake Peveler calmly put in a penalty to make it a 4-1 game. Findlay got one back in the 70th minute to give the game its final score.Â
Max Wawrin, Peveler, and
Calum Newson each had two shots in the match, with Newsom putting each of his on frame.Â
Goalies
Matthew Meyer and
Ben Burkeen each notched three saves in the game.
Findlay led the way in both shots (21-9) and shots on goal (11-6). KWC earned six corners compared to just three for the Oilers. Findlay committed 13 fouls to Wesleyan's seven.
KWC is back in action next week as they play host to both Walsh and Findlay on Panther Field. The match vs. Walsh is set for Thursday at 5 p.m., while the game against Malone will take place Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
