CEDARVILLE, OH - The Kentucky Wesleyan Volleyball Team struggled in their conference opener Friday night, falling to Cedarville in straight sets 25-16, 25-13, 15-18.
With the win the Yellowjackets move to 2-3 (1-0 G-MAC) while the Panthers drop to 2-7 (0-1 G-MAC).
Each set was tight for the first couple points before CU used the momentum of their crowd to pull away. The Panthers kept things close in the third set, tying things up at 12-12 on a kill by
Madelyn Hoskins. But The Yellowjackets scored eight of the next nine points to pull away and eventually get the three-set victory.
Nicole Martin and
Lilly Trump shared the lead with six kills each. Martin also had three blocks on the night.
Karrah Cron notched 19 assists while
Maggie Vincent led the way with 10 digs.
The Panthers will have a chance to even up their record in conference tomorrow as they head to Columbus to take on Ohio Dominican. Game time is set for 12 p.m. CT.
