OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Kentucky Wesleyan Volleyball team competed well on Saturday but ended up falling in both games to drop their season record to 2-6. KWC dropped their opener 3-0 to Missouri Southern before falling 3-1 to Maryville.
Game 1
The Lions took the opener from the Panthers by scores of 25-22, 25-14, 25-22.
Freshman
Diana Wesolosky led the Panthers with nine kills, while
Karrah Cron led the way in both assists (20) and digs (20).
Ava Rebarchik continued her dominance on the defensive end with three blocks. She leads the Panthers with 20 blocks on the year.
Game 2
The Panthers were in every set against Maryville, but ended up falling in four sets 25-22, 16-25, 26-24, 25-22.
KWC had three players with double digit kills with
Lilly Trump (14) leading the way, followed by
Ava Rebarchik (13) and
Diana Wesolosky (11).
Karrah Cron set a new career high with 49 assists, coming just two shy of jumping in to the KWC all-time top ten for a game.
Maggie Vincent had 14 digs in the match while Rebarchik notched six blocks.
The Panthers will be back in action next week as they hit the road for some G-MAC action. On Friday, Sept. 17 Wesleyan head to Cedarville to take on the Yellow Jackets at 6 p.m CT. On Saturday, the Panthers take on Ohio Dominican at 12 p.m. CT.
