OWENSBORO, KY. - The Kentucky Wesleyan College softball team picked-up an impressive win over the Trevecca Nazarene University on Tuesday afternoon. Both games were highlighted by strong pitching performances as the Trojans won the opener 1-0 and the Panthers took game two behind
Evyn Hendrickson's one-hitter, 3-1.

GAME 1: TNU 1, KWC 0
Grace Scott pitched brilliantly in the opener as she went the distance allowing one run on five hits with two strikeouts. The lone run of the game came in the top of the fourth inning on Carly Sperlich's solo homerun.

The Panthers (12-21, 5-11 GMAC) threatened in the bottom of the sixth by loading the bases with one out. The Trojans (20-10, 12-4 GMAC) got Kaitlyn Lasala to hit a ground ball, the throw went to home to record a force out.
Grace Scott followed by fouling out to end the threat.

Meryck Hardley finished the game with two hits.

GAME 2: TNU 1, KWC 3
The Panthers are now one of three teams in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference to hand Trevecca a loss this season. At 12-4 in league play the Trojans currently sit second in the G-MAC standings.

Wesleyan did all its damage in the bottom of the first inning as Hardley led off the frame with a bunt single. She moved to third on
Hannah Scheberle's double to right.
Madison Scott drove in the first run of the game with a single to right. Hendrickson walked to load the bases, still with nobody out. A force out at home and a line-out to short quickly accounted for the first two outs. Â

After to back-to-back walks that forced in a run each time, the Panthers were on top 3-0. The Trojans made a pitching change for
Lacie Mills who popped out to end the inning.

A one out double in the top of the second inning scored the lone Trojan run. Trevecca got a runner into scoring position in the next inning, but Hendrickson left her stranded. Hendrickson allowed just one baserunner the rest of the way.

Hendrickson recorded her 16
th complete game of the year. She allowed one run on one hit with 11 strikeouts. She was also two for one at the place.
Madison Scott, Lasala, and
Mikayla Benson each recorded one hit on the day.

The Panthers will travel to Cendarville on Thursday to play the Yellow Jackets.
