OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan women's tennis team suffered a 5-0 defeat to Walsh University. The Panthers (3-6, 0-2 GMAC) playing on back-to-back days dropped their second Great Midwest match of the season.
Rainfall covered the courts at Moreland Park on Saturday morning as the match was moved inside to Centre Court. The Cavaliers (11-4, 3-1 GMAC) took the doubles point by winning the number one and three matches. The number two match with
Liz Smith and
Camron Blandford went unfinished with the Cavs and Panthers tied 3-3.
The Cavs won three singles matches to clinch the match.
Liz Smith and the number one match went unfinished. Smith lost the opening 6-0 while she trailed in the second set 4-2.
The Panthers will travel to Cedarville on Tuesday for a match with Cedarville. The contest is scheduled to start at 10 AM CT.
