G-MAC Semifinal Preivew

OWENSBORO, Ky. – For the third straight season the Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball team has advanced to the G-MAC semifinal.  The Panthers are slotted in the No. 2 seed and will take on the No. 6 seed Findlay Oilers.  Tip off is set for 6:30 pm CT on Friday at host and No. 1 seed Cedarville.

TICKETS
Kentucky Wesleyan has been allotted a limited number of tickets.  The tickets will be available to purchase at 12 pm CT on Thursday.  Tickets can be purchased by clicking HERE ith the code KW-WBB-Semifinal

SERIES HISTORY
The all-time series is tied at 5-5 with the Panthers winning the lone postseason meeting.  The two teams met three times in the calendar year of 2020. 

LAST MEETING
The two teams have had a heated rivalry this season.  When the Panthers visited Findlay in December, the Oilers tied the game with a tip-in buzzer-beater and eventually won the game in overtime.  In January at The Sportscenter, the Panthers trailed by 22 points with 4 minutes remaining in the third period.  Wesleyan outscored Findlay 31-7 in the final frame to win 79-67.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Wesleyan picked up a 76-54 win over the No. 7 seed Trevecca Nazarene in Tuesday's semifinal.  Leading by seven at the break, the Panthers pulled away in the third after outscoring them 30-11.

Tahlia Walton and Kaylee Clifford are both averaging double figures this season in 12.0 and 10.6 points per game respectively.  Clifford also paces the team with 5.9 rebounds per game as well as 20 blocks and 33 steals on the year.  Lily Miller has dished out a team-high 83 assists.

SCOUTING THE OILERS
Findlay had a thrilling quarterfinal victory on the road over the No. 3 seed Walsh.  The Oilers trailed by 21 at the beginning of the second half but used a 21-0 run to take down the two-time defending G-MAC Champions.

The Oilers have three averaging in double figures in Sydney Kin (21.7), Bridget Landin (13.0) and Amber Schweiger (11.1).  Kin also leads the Oilers with 9.5 rebounds per game followed by Landin at 8.0.  Schweiger has dished out 5.2 assists per game while grabbing 2.3 steals per game.
