INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –
Tre Cobbs has been named to the Great Midwest All-Conference First Team as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon. All together three members of the Kentucky Wesleyan College men's basketball team have earned All-Conference selections.
Wyatt Battaile and
Zach Hopewell each were named to the All-GMAC Second Team.
Cobbs finished fifth in the league with a 16.8 points per game average. Cobbs played in 13 games, starting nine while averaging 26 minutes a night. He scored 219 points this season while pulling in 40 rebounds and dishing out 36 assists.
The sharp shooting Hopewell is 14
th in the league in scoring (13.5) and third in three-point shooting percentage (.391). He also sits fourth in the lead with 2.4 three-point baskets per game. This season Hopewell has recorded 203 points in 15 games. He also laid claim to 25 assists and 12 steals. Hopewell reached double-figure point totals 10 times this season with a season-high 24 coming on February 6
th against Ohio Dominican.
Battaile started all 16 games this season, helping the Panthers to a 10-6 record. On the year Battaile averaged 12.1 points per game and over seven rebounds a night. His rebounding total ranks fifth in the G-MAC this season. Battaile shoots over 40% from the field and the perimeter. To the start the season Battaile recorded his first of two double-doubles. He scored a season best 19 points in back-to-back games against Hillsdale and Malone this January.
The Panthers were eliminated from the Great Midwest Championship Tournament on Tuesday after a 64-55 loss to Cedarville. Ranked eighth in the NCAA most recent Regional Rankings, the Panthers will await selections this Sunday.
