Wesleyan Athletics Advance Leadership Roles

OWENSBORO, KY. – Gregory Richard has been elevated to Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Internal Operations at Kentucky Wesleyan College, as announced by Interim Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Mark Shook. The promotion and additional responsibilities went into effect in October of 2021.

"I am excited to announce Greg's new title as Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Internal Operations, a promotion that he has more than earned through his excellent service to Kentucky Wesleyan College," said Interim Director Shook. "His professional experiences, work ethic and commitment to the student-athlete experience makes him an invaluable member of my leadership team.  This well-deserved promotion represents the importance of Greg's leadership to the entire department."

At Wesleyan, Richard has been responsible for all game-day activities as well as cultivating new partnerships within the Owensboro community. He also continued to grow the department's current host of corporate sponsorships, increasing the revenue stream to the department.

Since 2018, Richard has streamlined the season-ticket process at Wesleyan as he cultivated a partnership with Hometown Ticketing. In addition, he has made season-football tickets more accessible and established an exclusive tailgating area on campus.
Since joining the Wesleyan Athletic Department, Richard has served as the campus sponsor of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). He has attended meetings and conventions at the conference and national levels in support of our student-athletes. Richard has also been instrumental in organizing GAMEPLAN and HELPER/HELPER applications among student-athletes on campus. Since Richard assisted in the streamlining of community service hours with HELPER/HELPER, Wesleyan student-athletes have logged over 2,000 hours of community service since 2018. 
Richard has served as a NCAA Site Representative for NCAA Cross Country National Championships in 2020. He also was the Great Midwest Athletic Conference representative for National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) from 2018-2020.  

Richard earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Sport Management and Minor in Coaching in the spring of 2016. In May of 2018 Richard earned his Master of Business Administration from McKendree University.
