OWENSBORO, KY - Following a slow opening half, Kentucky Wesleyan came out strong in the second half, scoring three goals to put them right in the game. Unfortunately, Ursuline also scored three second half goals, giving them the 5-3 victory.
With the win the Arrows move to 3-6 (2-5 G-MAC) while the Panthers drop to 3-6 (0-5 G-MAC).
Despite the Panthers having the best chances out of the gate, it was the Arrows who put one away first. Lidia Rodin scored on Ursuline's first shot of the game to put them up 1-0 after 15 minutes of play. Ursuline tacked on one more goal before the end of the half to go up 2-0 at the break.
Just one minute into the second half, Lidia Rodin put another one past the KWC goalie to give the Arrows a 3-0 lead. The Panthers then began to chip away at the lead, with
Madisyn Hunt heading in a gorgeous cross by
Natalie Hinchcliffe to cut it to a 3-1 game. Just 10 minutes later,
Chloe Hinchcliffe cut it to a one-goal game on a tap in off a double assist from Natalie Hinchliffe and
Bree Owen. Just when it looked like KWC was gaining momentum, Ursuline silenced the crowd with a goal in the 73rd minute. Following a PK goal by the Arrows,
Ashlyn Payton knocked in a goal in the final two minutes of play to make it a 5-3 final.

Chloe Hinchcliffe (3).
Reegan Garrity and
Elizabeth Burns each had five saves in the match.
Ursuline led the way in shots (31-17) shots on goal (15-6), and fouls (8-7).
The Panthers stay at home for their next contest as they face Walsh on Monday, Oct. 11 at 7 PM. This is a make up from the game that was postponed on Sept. 23.
