OWENSBORO, KY. –
Diana Wesolosky produced another solid evening for the Kentucky Wesleyan College volleyball team on Friday as she finished the match with Ohio Dominican with 10 kills. Nevertheless, the Panthers fell in straight sets to ODU.
In their final homestand of the season, the Panthers mixed things up offensively in the opening. ODU and Wesleyan exchanged points in the early going. Dominican used a 7-1 rally that turned a tie set into a 12-6 lead. ODU held a .450 attacking percentage in the opening set as they took a 1-0 lead after a 25-15 win.
The Panthers pulled ahead 13-11 in the second set, but ODU produced another rally, a 5-0 run that flipped script on the set. ODU was eventually took the second frame 25-20. Dominican closed out the match with a 25-16 win of the third set.
Wesolosky held a .261 attacking percentage to go along with her 10 kills.
Lilly Trump added seven kills.
Julia Kupper dished out 28 assists while
Maggie Vincent and
Karrah Cron each recorded nine digs.
The Panthers will host Cedarville on Saturday afternoon. The match is scheduled to start at 1 PM.
