INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Kentucky Wesleyan Men's Basketball Team, after finishing last season 10-6 (9-5 G-MAC), are predicted to finish 7th in the conference by the Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Panthers were picked 7th with 43 points, closely behind Walsh (59) and just ahead of Trevecca Nazarene (32). Nationally ranked Hillsdale (91) and G-MAC newcomer Ashland (90) are predicted to finish 1st and 2nd.
The Panthers have some key returners coming back from last year's 10-6 squad, including senior
Wyatt Battaile (12.1 ppg, 7.3 rpg),
Jamil Wilson (8.8 ppg, 4.2 apg),
Sasha Sukhanov (6.2 ppg, 1.3 bpg), and
Ben Sisson (4.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg). Transfers
A.J. Youngman (Idaho),
Jordan Roland (Notre Dame (OH)),
Antonio Thomas (Bradley), and Jomel Boyd (Montana State Northern) will all look to make an immediate impact for Head Coach
Drew Cooper this season.Â
The Panthers open their season up tomorrow night when they face the University of Kentucky on the SEC Network in an exhibition game at 7 p.m. ET. The Panthers will have one more exhibition contest at the University of Evansville on November 4th before they open up their regular season in St. Charles, Mo. to take on Illinois Springfield on Friday, November 12. The Panther's first home game is slated to take place on Tuesday, November 16 when they host Midway at 7:45 p.m. CT.
