OWENSBORO, KY - The (RV) Cedarville Yellowjackets came in to Owensboro and used a balanced attack to defeat the Panthers 2-0 on a rainy Saturday night.
With the win Cedarville moves to 11-2-1 (8-2-1 G-MAC) on the year while the panthesr drop to 1-11 (1-10 G-MAC).
The Panthers were able to keep the powerful Yellowjackets at bay for most of the night, but goals in the 14th and 63rd minutes of play would prove to be the difference.
Adrian Stokke,
Calum Newson, and
Santiago Henrich each notched two shots, while Newson, Henrich, and
Zach Moore each had a shot on goal.
Matthew Meyer made six saves in the match.
As a team, Cedarville out shot Wesleyan 22-9, including an 8-3 edge in shots on goal. The Yellowjackets were awarded five corner kicks to KWC's two, and KWC committed eight fouls to Cedarville's six.
The Panther's next game will be Thursday, Oct. 28 when they stay at home to face the Lake Erie Storm on Panther Field. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT.
