CEDARVILLE, OH - The Kentucky Wesleyan Men's Cross Country Team impressed at the G-MAC Championships on Saturday, with both
Tanner Hayes and
Landon Harper recording personal bests, while
James Loi was came close to his PR.
After starting his year off with a 30:20 at Evansville,
Tanner Hayes has slowly worked his way down to take two minutes off that time, clocking in at an impressive 28:09.3 in Cedarville, good for 89th place.
James Loi was the second Panther finisher, clocking in at a time of 28:52.1, finishing in 107th.
Landon Harper knocked over a minute off of his personal best to come at 113th with a time of 29:22.9.Â
According to Hayes, "I think the team did well, and I'm extremely proud of my performance since I pr'd by over a minute."
James Loi stated that "running isn't about who is the fastest or most talented. It is about who is the strongest and willing to leave it all on the course, and I feel we did that today."
Head Coach
Sol Stephens stated that "the men ran tough today. They went through the two mile and 5K mark at the best paces of the season and the final time produced two personal bests for the freshman, and James got back to his PR ballpark. It's been a roller coaster this season, but we survived the highs and lows and I'm extremely proud of them. It's been a positive start for this small group, and they will lay the groundwork of the future passion, attitude, and expectations of the running programs here at Kentucky Wesleyan College.Â
