NORTH CANTON, OH - For the final 80 minutes of the game, the KWC Panthers and Walsh Cavaliers were an even 1-1 on goals. Unfortunately for the Panthers, they let up three goals in the opening 10 minutes of play, and that was a hole Wesleyan could not dig themselves out of as they would fall 4-1.
With the win the Cavaliers move to 4-7-2 (4-4-1 G-MAC) while the Panthers fall to 3-9 (0-8 G-MAC).
Walsh went on the offensive right off the bat, peppering Panther goalie
Reegan Garrity with 10 shots in the opening 12 minutes of play. KWC managed to pull one back in the 21st minute as junior
Ivy Johnson scored her first career goal to make it a 3-1 game. Both defenses would stay strong over the final 25 minutes of the half and Wesleyan went into the break down two.
Walsh scored just eight minutes into the second half to make it 4-1 affair. KWC only managed five shots in the second half as Walsh kept the Panthers winless in conference play.
Madisyn Hunt led the way with four shots, while
Natalie Hinchcliffe tallied three shots, with all of them being on goal.
Reegan Garrity saved 12 shots for the third time this season.
Walsh led the way in both shots (26-10) and shots-on-goal (16-7).Â
The Panthers will be back at home on Thursday, Oct. 21 when they host Ohio Dominican. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
