HAMMOND, IN - In their opening game of the Midwest Region Crossover, the Kentucky Wesleyan Volleyball team fell to Truman State 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 25-22, 25-17). 

With the win the Bulldogs move to 3-16 (0-9 GLVC) on the year while the Panthers fall to 2-16 (0-9 G-MAC). 

The opening set saw the Panthers storm back and tie the game at 22-22 before Truman State pulled away with three straight points to close out the set. 

Carlee Widmer recorded five service aces in a big 11-0 KWC run midway through the second set to begin to pull away. Diana Wesolosky would offically win the set on a monster kill courtesy of an assist by Widmer. 

Truman State fought off multiple Panthers runs in the third and fourth sets to take the game by the 3-1 margin.

Both teams struggled with errors in the game, with Kentucky Wesleyan committing 25 to Truman State's 18. 

Lilly Trump led Wesleyan with 13 kills, followed closely behind by Diana Wesolosky with 12. Carlee Widmer recorded a career high seven aces in the match with Weslosky recording five. Widmer tallied 21 assists and also led the way with 13 digs. 

The Panthers will stay at the Hammond Sportsplex tomorrow as they take on Illinois-Springfield at 9:30 a.m. and Davenport at 4 p.m.
