Panthers Complete Season Sweep of Hillsdale on Senior Day

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball team picked up their 23rd win of the season on Saturday with a 88-63 win over Great Midwest Athletic Conference foe Hillsdale College.  It marks the Panthers 15th win of the season by at least 20 points and their 32nd straight win at home.

Wesleyan (23-1, 14-1 G-MAC) trailed by five midway through the first but an 11-0 run gave the Panthers a six point lead.  Lily Skye Grimes exploded for seven of the eleven points while Hillsdale (6-17, 3-11 G-MAC) was held scoreless for eight straight possessions.

The scored was knotted at 25 four minutes into the second quarter but the Panthers exploded for a 10-0 run and never looked back.  Wesleyan shot a blistering 10-for-14 (71.4%) in the third quarter, outscoring the Chargers 26-17.  The Panthers never lost their double-digit lead in the final frame.

Keelie Lamb finished with a team-high 17 points and eight rebounds.  Grimes posted 16 points, falling one shy of her career high, and dishing out five assists.  Tahlia Walton recorded 15 while Kaylee Clifford and Jordyn Barga also finished in double figures at 11 and 10 respectively.

The Panthers forced 17 turnovers resulting in 24 points.  Wesleyan dominated the paint at a tally of 46 to 22.  The Panthers bench outscored the Chargers' 38 to 8.

Wesleyan will travel to West Virginia next weekend, taking on Alderson Broaddus on Saturday.  Due to facility issues, the game will be played at Salem University with tip off set for 12 pm CT.
