OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball team jumped four spots up to No. 18 in this week's WBCA NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.
The Panthers went 1-0 last week with an 89-54 road win against Great Midwest Athletic Conference foe Alderson Broaddus. The victory marked the Panthers 24th win of the season which ties the program record for wins in a season set last year at 24-8. Wesleyan has now won 11 straight with each of the 11 victories being by at least 10 points.
Wesleyan is one of two G-MAC teams in this week's Top 25 along with Walsh who stayed up at No. 11. The Cavaliers remain the lone loss of the season for Wesleyan.
The Midwest Region still has five teams in the Top 25 in Drury (1), Ashland (2), Grand Valley (6), Walsh (11) and Kentucky Wesleyan (18).
Wesleyan will have another week-long break, not returning to action until Saturday, February 22. The Panthers travel to Nashville, Tenn. to take on Trevecca Nazarene University in their second to last G-MAC game of the season.
