Pair of Double-Doubles Lead Wesleyan Past Alderson Broaddus

OWENSBORO, Ky. – A pair of double-doubles from Tahlia Walton and Kaylee Clifford helped guide the Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball to a 60-47 win on Saturday over Alderson Broaddus University.  The Great Midwest Athletic Conference victory marks the Panthers 29th straight win at The Sportscenter, extending the longest home win streak in program history.

The Battlers notched the first two baskets of the game to take a 4-0 lead before Kaylee Clifford scored eight straight for the Panthers on a pair of three's and a lay up.  Clifford went on to tally a three-point play in the closing seconds of the first quarter as the Panthers clung to a 16-11 lead.

Lily Skye Grimes knocked back a three midway through the second just moments before Alderson Broaddus cut the Panthers' lead to two.  Wesleyan pulled away with a 7-0 run that saw five points from Tahlia Walton.  The Panthers took a 38-24 lead to the break after scoring 12 points off of 10 Battler turnovers.

At the 7:20 mark of the third quarter Clifford drained a three that gave Wesleyan their largest lead of the game at 16 points.  From there the Panthers led by double digits the rest of the game.

Clifford paced the team with 18 points along with 10 rebounds.  Walton recorded her first double-double as a Panther with 10 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.  Keelie Lamb flirted with a double-double of her own, recording 12 points while dishing out a team-high seven assists.

The Panthers hit the road next week for a pair of G-MAC games taking on Hillsdale on Thursday before traveling to Findlay on Saturday.
