AKRON, Ohio –
Meredith Daunhauer, of the Kentucky Wesleyan College softball team, will complete her career with another Great Midwest All-Conference selection, as announced by the league office on Wednesday evening. The honor comes as Daunhauer's fourth in her career and third time as a member of the First Team.
Daunhauer previously was bestowed G-MAC Freshman of the Year and Second Team honors in 2016. The past two season the Panthers' centerfielder has been a staple on the G-MAC's First Team. Daunhauer is the first Panther to receive All G-MAC accolades all four years and the second in program history (Kristin Reynolds - All GLVC 1992-95).
This season the league's all-time leader in hits and stolen bases has collected 72 hits in 155 at bats. Her .465 batting average ranks second in the G-MAC and 14
th nationally. Her hit total also ranks second in the conference standings while 72 hits sits 17
th in the country. Daunhauer is also fourth in the G-MAC in on-base percentage (.503), second in runs scored (40) fourth in triples (3), and seventh in stolen bases (17) this season.
In her career, Daunhauer has recorded a G-MAC record 324 hits and 135 stolen bases. She currently sits second all-time in league history for highest career batting average.
The Panthers will play Cedarville on Thursday in the first round of the Great Midwest Conference Tournament. First pitch is scheduled for 9 AM CT at Walsh. The winner will face the winner of the Ohio Dominican and Hillsdale matchup at 5 PM CT.
