NDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Devin Smith of the Kentucky Wesleyan College baseball team has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The junior fired 6.2 innings with 10 strikeouts, tying his previous season-high of 10 against Hillsdale on March 24.  Smith took the no decision, putting the Panthers in position to come away with a walk off win.

Smith struck out two hitters in each of the first three innings and proceeded to retire the side in order in both the fourth and fifth innings.  Smith held the Cavaliers to a .192 batting average with five hits scattered over the 6.2 innings.

The Teutopolis, Ill. native now sits at 4-0 in seven starts this season, leading the Panthers starters with a 2.61 ERA.  Smith has recorded 47 strikeouts in 41.1 innings, ranking fifth in the G-MAC in strikeouts.

Wesleyan hits the road this week for their first of three straight weekend road trips.  Wesleyan heads to Cedarville for a four-game series with the Yellow Jackets on Friday and Saturday.
