OWENSBORO, Ky. – After finishing the season with a mark of 13-9 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action, the Kentucky Wesleyan College softball team is slated fifth in the 2019 Great Midwest Softball Championship. This marks Wesleyan's sixth straight appearance in the G-MAC tournament.
The Panthers will face the fourth seed Cedarville University who sits at 15-7 in conference play this year. The two teams did not meet in the regular season.
First pitch is set for 9 am CT on Thursday at Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio. The winner will face the winner of the No. 1 seed Ohio Dominican vs. No. 8 seed Hillsdale College match up at 6 pm at Firestone Stadium in Akron, Ohio.
Wesleyan enters the tournament with one of the top offenses in the league, boasting a team batting average of .308 to Cedarville's .281. The Panthers have combined for 23 home runs this season, more than double of Cedarville.
