OWENSBORO, KY. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College baseball team picked-up another victory on Sunday afternoon over Tiffin University. The Panthers won the series after a 4-3 victory in game three. The Dragons won the finale 2-0.
Game One: Kentucky Wesleyan 4, Tiffin 3:
The wind at Panther Park switched directions from yesterday's doubleheader which led to two lower scoring games.
Chris Johnson pitched three scoreless innings to start the game, but an error helped the Dragons (17-28, 14-14 G-MAC) score two runs in the bottom of the fourth. The Panthers (25-19, 18-10 G-MAC) answered in the top of the fifth as
Brayden Sisson drove-in a run with a two-out double.

Johnson went six innings in a no-decision. He allowed two runs, both unearned on three hits and four strikeouts. As the game marched into the seventh
Ethan Maxey led-off the frame with single.
Ben Wilcoxson followed with a perfectly placed bunt that placed runners on first and second.
Reece Puckett stepped to the plate with the same idea and as his bunt attempt went back toward the pitcher, the ball was thrown to third and away, into foul territory. Both runs came across on the play to give the Panthers a 3-2 lead.
However, the Dragons tied the game in the bottom half of the inning, forcing extra innings. A quick eighth allowed Wesleyan to get back on the offensive with Maxey again leading-off with a single. Wilcoxson showed bunt on the first pitch, but pulled back and ripped a single into center. Puckett loaded the bases after being hit by a pitch, setting the table for Sisson with no-outs.
Sisson broke the tie with a sacrifice fly into center, his second RBI of the game. Maxey finished three for four with two runs scored. Wilcoxson was two for four.
Alex Franzen picked-up the win after 1.1 innings of relief. He did not allow a run on one hit and two strikeouts.
Game Two: Kentucky Wesleyan 0, Tiffin 2
Cam Curry pitched a complete game in the finale. He allowed just two runs, one earned on four hits with three strikeouts. The Dragons scored a run in each of the second and third innings to pick-up a 2-0 victory. The Panthers left nine runners on base, including the bases loaded in the fifth and two runners on in the sixth.
The Panthers will play Southern Indiana on Tuesday. First pitch at Panther Park is scheduled for 3PM CT.
