INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –
Maci Brown of the Kentucky Wesleyan College softball team has been named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Brown produced two stellar outings in the Sunshine State as the Panthers picked-up wins in both of her starts. Brown started the week with a near flawless performance as she took a no-hitter in to the seventh inning against Nova Southeastern. The Sharks managed one hit and one run against Brown as she went the distance in a 2-1 victory.
Two days later Brown hurled another complete game, a shutout against Missouri-St. Louis. The Panthers scored three runs in the seventh to preserve their first victory over the Tritons since 2008 and avenged a 11-1 loss in the NCAA Regional in 2017.
Brown also made two relief appearances on the week. Overall, she completed 15.2 innings, allowing one run on nine hits with six strikeouts. The hard-throwing right-hander posted a 0.45 ERA for the week.
In seven games, Brown is now 2-1 with a 3.21 ERA while pitching 24 innings this spring. She has now been named the conference pitcher of the week four times in her career.
The Panthers will host Davenport and Missouri S&T on Saturday. First pitch at Foster Field is scheduled for 12 PM CT.
