Andrews Earns Weekly Honors from G-MAC

INDIANPOLIS, Ind. – For the second time this season, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week belongs to Kentucky Wesleyan College, this time in catcher Chase Andrews.

Andrews posted at least two hits in each game as the Panthers went 3-1 in a week that included in a win at Valdosta State and a series win against Florida Southern.

The junior finished the week .600 (9-15) with a pair of doubles and one home run.  He drove in six runs and scored four times while slugging .933 and boasting an on base percentage of .684.

Andrews was the extra-innings hero with the game-winning RBI in the top of the 10th against Valdosta to close out the three-game series.  Then against Florida Southern, he doubled and crossed the plate with the winning run in extra innings again, this time in the eighth inning.

The Lebanon, Tenn. native's best game of the week came in the series opener at Florida Southern, finishing 3-4 with four RBI and a home run, his second of the season.

The next game for the Panthers will be their home opener and first Great Midwest Athletic Conference contest of the season.  Wesleyan hosts Lake Erie in a four-game series on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17.
