MURRAY, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College track and field team opened its outdoor season on Friday night at the Margaret Simmons Invitational hosted by Murray State University.  The men finished fourth of 11 teams with 73 points while the women placed eighth with 29 points.

The Panthers set three new school outdoor records on the men's side in the field events.  Trevor Miller reached 37.04-meters in the hammer throw to place sixth.  Miller also placed sixth in the discus with a mark of 36.71-meters.

Adam Bouchard set a pair of program records in the pole vault and high jump.  The sophomore placed second in the pole vault, reaching 3.65-meters while posting a mark of 2.02-meters in the high jump to take over the record books in both events.  Bouchard also placed second in the javelin with a distance of 41.90-meters.

In the 400-meter run, Kennard Laribo placed third with a time of 51.03 seconds.  In the 800-meter, two Panthers placed in the top ten.  Hunter Kurz finished fourth in 2:02.58 while Chase Bland was seventh at 2:04.85.

The duo both placed in the top three in the 1500-meter run.  Kurz crossed in 4:07.41 to finish second while Bland posted a time of 4:07.64 to place third.

On the women's side, Leslie Burns earned a sixth place finish in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:06.54.  In the 1,500-meter run, Erin Wilson crossed in 5:16.38 to place seventh.

Sydney Goff posted a time of 1:12.46 in the 400-meter hurdles to place third.

Jessica Hines earned a pair of top ten finishes.  The sophomore reached 10.14-meters in the triple jump to place fifth while posting a mark of 33.09-meters in the javelin to finish second.

The Panthers return to action on March 22 and 23 at the Emory Invitational in Atlanta, Ga.
