TIFFIN, Ohio – Day one of the Great Midwest Conference Duals concluded on Friday evening. The Kentucky Wesleyan College wrestling team finished the first day of the inaugural event with losses to Tiffin and Lake Erie. The Dragons took the opening match 53-0 while the Storm took down the Panthers 42-11.

The Dragons rallied through the opening matches to start the Championship. The Panthers suffered two narrow losses late in the dual.
Angelo Talabert dropped a narrow 3-2 decision at 174 pounds.
Kairus Washington suffered a similar fate at heavyweight as he fell 6-4 in another equally talented match-up.

LaMont Wilson started the Lake Erie match with an impressive 18-2 victory at 125 pounds. Wilson earned five team points with the technical fall. The Storm took the lead after back-to-back pins at 133 and 141 pounds.

Caleb Craig lost 6-0 at 149 pounds while Talabert fell 6-4 in another evenly matched bout. The Panthers picked up six more points with a
Kohana Wilks winning his 165 pound match by forfeit.

The Panthers will have three more matches tomorrow as the Great Midwest Duals continue. Wesleyan will take on Alderson Broaddus at 9AM CT to start the day with Findlay and Ohio Valley coming later in the day.
