OWENSBORO, KY. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College Department of Athletics has announced a change of venue for the women's basketball game on Saturday against Great Midwest rival Cedarville. The game will be contested on campus in Jones Gymnasium at the Woodward Health and Recreation Center.
The Woodward Health and Recreation Center is located on the Avenue of Champions in between Scherm Road and Wesleyan Drive. Fans looking to purchase Wesleyan basketball apparel can visit the Panthers Den located in the Winchester Building from 11 am until 12 pm.
Due to a trio of scheduling difficulties and the Sportscenter being occupied for a high school basketball event, the game will be played on campus. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 pm CT and general admission is free to the 2018-19 G-MAC semifinal rematch.
"We've known that the Sportscenter was not available on this date for months and have been working during that time to find a solution," said Director of Athletics
Rob Mallory. "Our hope was to shift the schedule to mirror what we were able to do on the men's side. That change required that three different institutions were on the same page. Unfortunately, all needs were not able to be satisfied in this instance. We plan to make the best of the situation that we're in, and I hope our fans and the community will come out to support our team despite the late change in venue."
Cedarville is off to a 2-0 start to the Great Midwest portion of the season. The Panthers are 2-0 in league play and have not lost on campus in over a decade.
