TIFFIN, Ohio - The Kentucky Wesleyan College volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat to Tiffin University on Thursday evening. The Dragons sprinted out to large leads in the first two sets and rode momentum to the finish. 

The Dragons (15-11, 8-1 GMAC) maintained hopes of claiming the top seed in the Great Midwest Tournament with a fast start. Tiffin held a .244 attacking percentage in the opening frame while building a 13-4 lead. The Panthers (13-12, 6-4 GMAC) were led by Alexa Davis in the opening frame as collected three kills. Tiffin took the opener 25-16. 

Wesleyan suffered a similar fate in second set as Tiffin built a 2-0 lead after a 25-10 win. Back-to-back kills by Julia Moran helped the Panthers take a 12-10 lead in the third set. The Dragons countered by winning eight of the next nine points to take a commanding 18-13 lead. The shift in momentum allowed Tiffin to hold off the Panthers and close out the match with a 25-19 victory. 

Jaylen McEwen finished with six kills and eight digs. Nilah Roy recoded 17 digs while Lydia Jackson dished out 14 assists. 

The Panthers will travel to Cedarville on Friday for the penultimate match of the regular season. The contest with the Yellow Jackets is scheduled to start at 6 PM CT.
