OWENSBORO, Ky. – Despite falling to Trevecca Nazarene on Tuesday night, the Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer team stole one of the final spots in the 2019 Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament with help from Ursuline College.
The Panthers advance to the G-MAC tournament for the sixth time in seven seasons, only missing the G-MAC tournament once since the conference was founded. Wesleyan's opponent is yet to be determined with one late game going on in the conference on Tuesday night.
Wesleyan fell to Trevecca by a score of 2-0 at Panther Field. The two teams fought to a scoreless tie at halftime before the Trojans netted a pair of goals less than five minutes apart in the 55th and 60th minute.
The Panthers outshot the Trojans 16-13 on the night with seven shots being on goal.
Madisyn Hunt paced the team with four shots followed by Natalie Hinchcliffe at three. Kamryn Pulliam and Sarah Haleman both recorded two.
Taylor Rentchler picked up four saves in net while allowing two goals in the full 90 minutes.
As the seven seed, Wesleyan will travel to the two seed on Saturday for the G-MAC quarterfinal with the opponent and game time yet to be determined.
