OWENSBORO, KY. – The final night of the season turned out to be a wild one as the Kentucky Wesleyan College men's soccer team and Trevecca Nazarene failed to just go through the motions. Instead the two teams put on a display of two teams not ready for the 2019 fall to end. A back-and-forth second half turned the way of the Trojans as they took down the Panthers 4-3 on Tuesday night.
In an interesting match that saw one goal in the first 50 minutes and five in 15 minutes thereafter.
Max Wawrin made it a memorable ultimate match as he scored the first goal of the contest in the ninth minute.
Anatoli Gishe passed wide as he charged the Trojans' box, finding Wawrin on the right side. Wawrin connected through the left side of the net, giving the Panthers (4-12-1, 2-11-1 GMAC) a 1-0 lead.
Wawrin's goal was the second of the season and the lone tally in the half.
Lucas Daunhauer made two saves in a half that did not see much more action on a cold fall evening.

The score would indicate things opened up in the second half. Carlos Bravo started unique series of scores as he received a free kick in the 50
th minute. As the defense blocked Daunhauer's vision, the ball wound up through the middle of the posts untouched. The celebration was shot-lived as the Panthers moved quickly down field just over a minute later.
Selvin Hernandez was awarded a free kick from midfield in the 51
st minute. The free kick found Joh Barnett who touched the ball back to
Austin Moore who converted the score.
A minute later, the Trojans tied the match again as they got a defensive miss-match and took advantage. With the match tied 2-2,
Jacob Lensing broke the tie in the 60
th minute. Another long serve from Hernandez found Gishe who drew a lot of the attention in the TNU box. Gishe passed to Lensing who converted through traffic.
In the 65
th minute, the Trojans were able to tie the match again ending a furious back-and-forth battle. Five goals were scored between the two teams in 15 minutes. With the clock running down, the Trojans took the lead in the 78
th minute on Michael Jones's second goal of the night.
Trevecca packed it in defensively and deflected the Panthers numerous chances to tie the match. Daunhauer finished with four saves on the night. Moore took three shots, one on goal with a score. Hernandez and Gishe each finished with two assists.
