OWENSBORO, KY. – Luke Morrison, a versatile player, from Crestwood Kentucky has signed to play basketball at Kentucky Wesleyan College, as announced by Head Coach
Drew Cooper on Wednesday morning. Morrison is the first commitment for the Panthers' 2020 recruiting class.
Morrison is a 6'5 guard who is entering his senior season at South Oldham High School in Crestwood, Kentucky. In his career, Morrison has already scored 1,000 points. He was named to the Kentucky Junior All-Star team last season after earning 8
th Region Player of the Year honors. The All-State guard was also the 29
th District Tournament Most Valuable Player in 2019.
"Luke is as good of a shooter as there is in the state," commented Head Coach
Drew Cooper. "He comes from a great program that we know well here. He has great length and has nice instincts that compliment his ability to score very well. We're thrilled to have him."
Morrison has also earned academic accolades in his prep career as well as being an active member in the community. For the past two season Morrison has been a student leader with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The talent basketball player is an active volunteer within his church.
"Luke his an outstanding basketball player, said Steve Simpson, the Head Basketball Coach at South Oldham. "He just does everything well," continued Simpson. "He can catch and shoot, great pull up, good passer that sees the floor so well. But the best thing about Luke is his character and his work ethic. Kentucky Wesleyan is getting a good one."
Luke is the son of Lee and Dayna Morrison. He has two siblings in AnaLee and Ella. His father played basketball at Transylvania while his grandfather played at Bellarmine.
